Charity Information

The CIO was entered onto the Register of Charities on 21 December 2017 with three elected trustees – Michelle Thomas, Sharon Mayell and Jane Erskine.

Notice was given of the first annual general meeting of members to take place on Monday 17th June with Simon Freeman, Rob Booth, Mark Cooke, Jo Scoins and Eleanor Jones standing for election and Sharon Mayell and Jane Erskine for re-appointment.  Nether Stowey Parish Council appointed Andrew Jeanes as a Nominated Trustee.  By 30th July 2019  the CIO had 145 members.

A special thanks goes to Michelle Thomas who has retired as a trustee having put in a great deal of work to merge the Village Hall and Recreation Ground, but will be offering her experience as a member, and to the Village Hall and Recreation Ground committees who have taken those organisations from separate charities to one united CIO, and continue their work for the two facilities.

Membership

Each Member of the NSVH&RG charity has a duty to exercise their powers in the way they decide would be most likely to further the purposes of the CIO.  A strong membership base will provide evidence to potential funders that we have consulted with the community and have its support.  Members who wish to go further in their support – by actively participating and volunteering skills for the purposes of the charity (the provision and maintenance of a community centre, sports field and recreation ground for village) – will be warmly welcomed.
